March 21 at the Yellow Creek Trout Club

The water was perfect, weather perfect too.

Got some really nice browns yesterday and once again, the kreelex and sucker spawn was the go to flies.

Saw stone flies everywhere, but the trout weren’t looking up.

Ran into Al and a few other buddies. A great day to be out.

March at the Yellow Creek Trout Club

Went to the Yellow Creek Trout Club and although the water was slightly stained, I did manage to pick up a few fish today. Perfect weather and black stone flies galore. The kreelex streamer and pearl shiner were the baits of choice. My buddy John caught a bunch on a minnow imitation that I found on the bank, gave it to him, and he nailed a few before snagging it up.Everyone I met said the fishing was really good today.

After an epic stocking

at the Yellow Creek Trout Club I ventured up on a freaky warm day in December. I saw so many fish that I couldn’t believe the numbers, especially the size of the fish. Through no fault of the fish, I didn’t set the world on fire, but did manage to catch a few. Saw one guy land 12 fish in the last hour of the day. He went home really happy, as so did I.

Still Low at the Yellow Creek Trout Club

But, I did catch this bow yesterday. After a long fight I got this guy in with a tree branch (hard to see) attached to the line.

Everywhere you look you see big trout in every pool.

By the way, fished Chautauqua Creek and 16 Mile Run recently and have yet to hook a single steelie.
